Origin Woodworks Warranty
Built for Real Life. Backed by Real Craftsmanship.
At Origin Woodworks, I don’t do off-the-rack furniture made of crushed cardboard, plastic laminate, or cheap pine that wobbles by Thanksgiving. I build heirloom-grade statement pieces out of rich Missouri hardwood and heavy steel—built to handle Sunday feasts, late-night debates, and generations of memories right here in the St. Louis area.
When you bring home nature’s beauty, I back the human hands that built it. For three full years (36 months) from the day your piece is delivered or installed, your statement furniture is protected against structural defects in craftsmanship and materials.
Here is how I’ve got your back:
🪵 What Is Covered (The Good Stuff)
I stand behind my work 100%. This warranty covers defects in structural integrity, joinery, finish application, and steel fabrication:
Structural Hardwood Integrity: If your table top or solid wood slab cracks, splits open, or warps to an extent that compromises its structural use due to improper wood drying or tension stress, I fix it.
Joinery & Gluelines: I build to last. Any separation of glued timber seams, bowties, or joinery under normal indoor household use is fully covered.
Epoxy & Resin Inlays: Delamination or cracking of structural epoxy fills, clear resin river passes, or bark-stabilization bowties under normal indoor conditions.
Hand-Applied Protective Finishes: Flaking, peeling, or premature breakdown of my hard-wax oil or topcoat finishes not caused by chemical spills, excessive heat, or sharp objects.
🚫 What Is NOT Covered (The Laws of Physics & Nature)
Wood is an organic material that continues to breathe long after it leaves my St. Louis workshop. To keep your piece happy, you have to treat it like solid wood—not plastic. The following are not considered defects in craftsmanship:
Seasonal Wood Movement (The "Midwest Humidity" Rule): St. Louis weather goes from humid summers to bone-dry winter heating. Minor, hairline checking or slight seasonal expansion/contraction is normal behavior for solid timber.
Battle Scars & Normal Wear and Tear: Scratches from your dog’s paws, dented edges from dropped cast-iron pans, wine rings left overnight, or water damage from un-coastered sweet tea.
Extreme Heat & Chemical Damage: Placing red-hot pizza pans directly on raw wood finishes, or cleaning your table with harsh bleach, acetone, or abrasive scrubbers.
Outdoor & Environment Abuse: Leaving an indoor dining table, coffee table, or desk on an open back patio, in an unconditioned garage, or directly over a heating vent.
Mother Nature's Personality: Knots, sapwood color variations, natural bark pockets, and unique grain swirls are features, not flaws. That’s why you bought custom live-edge!
🛠️ How I Make It Right
If something goes wrong that falls under my warranty, I don't play corporate telephone. Here is how I handle it:
Local Repair (St. Louis Metro Area): If you’re within my local delivery zone, I will come directly to your space to touch up, re-finish, or repair the component on-site.
Shop Restoration: If the piece needs workshop attention, I’ll transport it back to my shop, repair or replace the affected component, re-finish it, and return it.
Full Replacement: If I determine a structural slab failure cannot be repaired to my high standards, I will craft you a brand-new top from my current inventory of Missouri hardwood.
